Group ride with Nick Lee.

A group of 17 riders plus one pillion left Otterbourne at 12.15pm and headed North through the village.
After a few miles, we ducked under the M3 Motorway and made our way south to Twyford. Turning
left at Twyford we headed east and picked up the Morestead Road. After a few miles, we took a left
and headed up through Cheriton to New Alresford, Old Alresford and on to Totford. Another left and
we began our journey west through East Stratton, past Micheldever Station, Sutton Scotney, south
to Crawley and finally west through to Kings Somborne and up to Stockbridge where we finished
at the White Hart.

A total of 45 miles is made up of a combination of all types of roads but plenty of lovely sweeping
nationals. Newbies were introduced to the drop-off marker system which worked without a hitch.
We had a couple of stops to re-group along the way but there were only a few minutes between
all riders. Big thanks to Richard Buchan for tail riding and doing a superb job. Everyone finished
with a smile on their face and quite a few stayed for coffee and a chat afterwards before making
their various ways home. A day of firsts - one gentleman mentioned that it was the longest ride
he'd ever done and another that it was the best ride he'd ever done, and it didn't rain for the
whole ride!
